Meet our leadership team
Minister R. Tierra Watkins
is the father of one son, seven year old Cartier. He works in Law Enforcement and has for 20 years between Kentucky and Texas. He formerly was a Benson recording artist with Christian group Straight Company where he traveled the world singing praises. Presently, he serves as one of the associate ministers of Christ’s Church for Our Community as well as Worship Leader and Treasurer. He has led musical groups in Kentucky, Texas, and Minneapolis, and has been singing and arranging music since age 11.
Tierra graduated from Augsburg College in Minneapolis with a BA in Communications. He has a passion for youth and has created a program called Project Choices which deals with alcohol and drug prevention. Most recently, inspired by his son, he produced a CD for children called EdMusication, an early childhood learning tool in which he showed his vocal ability as he performed 95% of the vocal parts on the CD and arranged a large portion of the songs.
Minister James Nathan Hollingsworth
was born and raised in Fayette, Alabama to James and Annie Hollingsworth. He is married to Tracy Samuels Hollingsworth and they nurture four wonderful children: Khrysin (17), Roman (10), Teanna (3), and Auburn (Soon to be 2). Nate has been preaching for nearly 27 years and has been an Associate Minister at Christ’s Church For Our Community since its beginning in January of 2000. Nate attended Fayette County High School where he graduated in 1986. After graduation he attended Bevill State Junior College where he studied Business Management and Supervision. While there Nate realized that God was calling him to full- time ministry. He transferred to International Bible College (Heritage Christian University now) and received his Bachelor’s Degree in 1993. After graduation Nate was called to Hawkinsville, Georgia to preach full-time. Nate was a very active member of the community and was asked to come and teach in the Pulaski County School District where he spent three years. After that God placed him in teaching at Middle Georgia Christian School for the next three years. He was responsible for teaching Bible, History, Science, and Health/PE. He also served as Athletic Director, head basketball and baseball coach while there. After six wonderful years of preaching and teaching in the Macon, Georgia area, Nate left on faith and moved to Louisville Kentucky in 1999. After moving to Louisville, Nate served as the Assistant and Executive Director of Fairdale Ministries for six years. He was responsible for spiritual guidance, supervising staff, writing grants, fundraising, helping low income families secure food, clothing, rent, and utility assistance. After his departure, God lead Nate back into the field of Education. Nate received his Master’s Degree in Learning Behaviors and Disorders from Spalding University in 2008. Nate taught four years at Shawnee High School in a self-contained classroom working with students with multiple disabilities. He currently teaches at Frost Middle School where he works with Special Education students in a self-contained environment and he is an assistant baseball coach at North Oldham High School. Nate is currently working on his Education Specialist and Doctorate Degree from Liberty University and will prayerfully be an administrator in the near future. Nate enjoys sharing God’s Word, family and sports. Nate says that he is truly blessed by God and that he is just a man with a message from the Master.
Steven L. Jenkins, Office Administrator
is the President of Consulting Dimensions, LLC , and an active member of Christ’s Church for Our Community as director of children & youth ministry, and teacher. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Master of Arts in Social Services from Almeda University.
Steven has served in variety of leadership roles since 1988, achieving the position of President/CEO of Greater Stark County Urban League, and serving as Executive Director, Chief Administrative Officer for a marketing company. Along with his leadership roles, he has developed and implemented several youth development programs and the creation of national youth development model programs along with the Columbus Urban League and Borden Foundation entitled (R.E.L.A.Y.) youth mentoring program. Steven was named in Manchester Who’s Who of Professional Management (2004-2005). He enjoys listening to jazz and collecting African American art. He is married to the former Melissa Conn, has three step-sons, one daughter and two grandsons
was born in Lafayette, IN and is married to Sean Jenkins and is the mother of two children, Nathan and Jordyn. She attended the University of Louisville where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration. Susan currently works as the Communications Coordinator for the Office of Community Engagement at the University of Louisville. She has served as the Administrative Assistant for Christ’s Church for Our Community since 2007. She served as the Host Site Director for Angel Food Ministries (AFM) from July 2008 until AFM operations ceased in 2011. In addition, she serves on the Usher Ministry and is a member of the CCFOC Mass Choir.
